During early jams both members discovered an uncanny ability of theirs to make themselves and others drowsy from their music. Both Neal and KJ expanded on this sound including elements such as Post-Rock, Garage Rock, Alternative, and Electronic music. While mutually bringing these elements into their music each member had their own sets of of personality and musical traits that they grew up with and threw into the melting pot. Abstract Lights hopes to give the world a modern sound using their relaxed state of mind thanks to the wonderful state of California they live in.
