Carly Paradis was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and is a composer and pianist. She composes soundtracks for movies, documentaries and television series. She relocated to Los Angeles to work alongside world renowned film composer Clint Mansell (Requiem For A Dream, Black Swan). She arranged piano parts on Mansell’s soundtrack for the BAFTA Award winning film Moon, directed by Duncan Jones, and played all piano on the official score and soundtrack. In the UK, Carly has already fully scored prime time cop/thriller Line Of Duty airing on BBC2 in 2012 by World Productions and 'Davis vs Taylor: the 85 black ball final', a major sports documentary made by IMG for BBC Television. She has worked as composer on True Justice (2010-2012) starring Steven Seagal; a major U.S. 13-part TV series in its 2nd season, syndicated worldwide. Carly worked with Mansell again on the romantic comedy feature film The Rebound staring Catherine Zeta-Jones, directed by Bart Freundlich (Californication), which led to live performances as pianist/ keyboardist with Mansell and L.A.'s Sonus Quartet at the Ghent Film Festival, Tenerife Film Festival London’s famous Union Chapel, and 3 sold out shows at L.A.’s Largo Coronet Theater. Recent scores include short film ‘Dual’ (showing at BFI 2011), ‘The North London Book of the Dead’ (Will Self short story), and U.S. psychological horror ‘Devoured’, a full-length movie due for release in 2012. The rising composer has recently debuted original compositions, recorded in Los Angeles with arranger Joe Trapanese (TRON: Legacy, Dexter), with selected tracks mixed at Air Studios, London, by Oscar nominated Geoff Foster. Her song “Come Over” was featured in Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut film trailer for In the Land of Blood and Honey, and “Piano Snooker Theme” in Scorese’s Hugo trailer. She has also had her works aired internationally on both independent and commercial radio, featured on tastemaker stations such as LA’s KCRW, and placed in various TV shows, including NBC's One Tree Hill, The Border, Rookie Blue and Degrassi: The Next Generation. Carly has a university degree in music and multimedia, and has picked up various scholarships and awards. She also studied at the University of McGill in Montreal, Canada, recognized for its early experimentation in Electroacoustic music and digital studio composition.
