Im Jahre 2005 trafen sich Mark und Olli, zwei Fans elektronischer Musik in den Räumlichkeiten des Tonstudio Einklang in Essen. Schnell wurde deutlich, dass hier "auf der selben Welle" gefunkt wird und so beschlossen Olli und Mark nach einigen gemeinsamen Produktionen für andere Künstler, das Projekt Phonolulu ins Leben zu rufen unter dem sie gemeinsam produzieren und als DJs Platten drehen. Die erste Produktion unter dem Namen Phonolulu erschien auf dem Label Kickboxer (19) im Februar 2008. Wer von den beiden Phono und wer lulu ist scheint bis heute nicht geklärt. Ein bisschen lulu sind Sie beide. Stilistisch bewegen sie sich großflächig im Bereich der elektronischen Musik, mit dem Fokus auf Tanzbares zwischen Techno, House und Elektro.In the year 2005 Mark and Olli, the two enthusiasts of electronic music met at the EINKLANG recording studio in Essen (Germany). Soon they've found out they're the same religion and after several remix productions for other artists the PHONOLULU project was born. Using the PHONOLULU branding Mark and Olli not only produce records they also play DJ sets at a club near you! Their own first production has been released on the KICKBOXER label (19) in February 2008. But who's PHONO and who's LULU? The most important question ever seems not to be cleared yet! Fact is, both of them are some kind of LULU! Stylistically they're based in the widespread range of electronic music, with their focus on clubber's best danceable sound which is somewhere between Techno, House and Electro!
