With sparkling vocals and an indisputable groove, the opening track, “Champagne Soul,” is a surefire summer anthem that doesn’t come up short of either. An open letter penned full of juxtaposition, “Dear K” is both sweet and dirty, as Mariami pleads with confidence in an irresistible cross between hip hop and pop. While painting the vivid image of a past life, “Dime in Paradise” experiments in world-bridging as Mariami pairs her Georgian roots with elements of the urban modern. Mariami’s voice and total offerings​ hover over​ the most popular sounds of our time—she is easily accessible, yet refreshingly out of reach from the mainstream.
