SHAFT is an alt/prog rock band based in Denver, CO. Their debut CD 'Monumental' has received raves for its cinematic blend of modern and classic (70's) styles.

SHAFT's motto, 'Return of the Riff', heralds a return to the fundamentals of great rock music. Instead of mimicking the mass-market product shoveled out by corporate radio, SHAFT charts a more progressive course over sonic territory ranging from ethereal to bone-crushing.

SHAFT counts the following bands among its many influences: Mars Volta, Tool, APC, Radiohead, Soundgarden, Voivod, Rush, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, King's X, Led Zeppelin, Opeth, RATM, Porcupine Tree, King's X, the Beatles, etc.
