Blue Head; Blue Heart
Originally from Denton Texas, Jake Williams began a formal music education at the University of North Texas where he earned a music degree in Classical Guitar Performance. Aside from the classical bit, Jake had a heavy interest in local Americana/Rock music which eventually led to some of the usual in and out of local bands history. In 1997 Jake joined up with singer-songwriter Chris Flemmons to play in his band Poor Bastard Sons (now Sub-pop artists Baptist Generals). While making the rounds in the local clubs in Denton with the Generals, Jake teamed up with his college roommate Michael Hill (former Slobberbone guitarist) to help out his band 12Lb. Test. Eventually 12Lb. Test’s first CD “Harms Way” was picked up and released by the Internet outfit Miles of Music. After a departure from the Baptist Generals and a few recordings with 12lb. Test, Jake turned his attention to writing and thus produced his first solo recording Blue Head; Blue Heart. With the help of drummer Steve Hill of the Baptist Generals
