In the fall of 2010 Luke James moved to Cambridge, MA. He connected with old friend/drummer Cam Mannix. After a few Jam sessions they decided to put together a band. However this could be no ordinary band. After playing with many musicians they discovered guitar virtuoso Cory West and multi instrumentalist Anthony Medici. Luke had a bunch of songs written and they went to work arranging them. That winter they went to a sleepy seaside town to record with John McNamara at Kid Charlemagne Studios. They recorded the bulk of the material live to retain the intense energy of the music. They came up with the title Diamonds in the Dark after realizing many of the material was based around the night.
