Shiddat is a solo music album performed in Hindi & English by Utsav Bhanja.

Utsav Bhanja (born November 10th) is an Indian singer, songwriter & guitarist. He is the music director, arranger, lead vocalist & guitarist of Shiddat at present. Utsav has explored himself as a true musician from various angles. Initially trained by his mother, Utsav started singing at the age of 3. Born to a former music director of the Calcutta Group Theatres, he got music composing from his father though inheritance.
Utsav got training in Indian Classical music by his Guru Pandit Ajoy Chakravarty. He spent 14 consecutive years in absolute classical practice in the quest to learn more & follow the foot-steps of his Guruji. However, during his mid-teenage, turmoils in the family started changing the way he looked towards music. With sudden exposure to the hard world during his teenage, Utsav found satisfaction in western genres like rock & roll, trance & metal. It was his restless mind that started mixing up things in real world & could find ultimate bliss in blending non-traditional styles of classical into western genres. It was during this period when in 2004 he started the project Different Spectra, which is also the name of his debut album published by Raga Music in 2007.

Utsav is believed to be one of those musicians who introduced the use of slicers in Bengali music. It was due to such non-traditional techniques that led to harsh criticism of his debut album in 2007.

Sounds of mandolin backed up with guitar feedback & distortion over a 7/7 beat folk track; pitch bends for abstract harmonies & Eastern Ragas on violin & strings ensemble mixed with sliced vocals - were examples of the form of music he introduced to the the-then music market in Kolkata.

Much later in 2009, his compositions were recognized by listeners from over the world, when his song "Shono Shono" got an unofficial streaming report of over 100000 plays on the internet. His compositions also got nominations for international compilation projects.

Utsav is a self-trained guitarist and has started playing much later during the end of his school days. Within one year, he got the spotlight for few of his abstract television title compositions & unpredictable guitaring. Utsav trained himself not only with music but also nourished himself with technicalities of music by making use of modern computer & sound equipment. By the end of his Graduation, he made a complete performer out of himself. Adding to his musical capabilities, Utsav finally started arranging & sequencing Western orchestrations & symphonies as he claimed, he could find music in every natural sound his ears could hear.

During the end of 2010, Utsav suddenly got himself out of the music scene after the video release of his last single "Keno Bujhina". He is believed to have searched for the actual sound, he wanted to create in his imaginations but never could. Recollecting every music lesson his teachers taught him & what other Gurus like Late Pt. A Kaanan & Dr. Balmurali Krishnan inspired him to do... Utsav made his come-back with Shiddat in 2012.
