Only 3 months into a new year and Barbara Sheree has performed at Carnegie Hall with four-time Grammy Award-winning African American opera singer Jessye Norman to performing as the lead in the play Homework-Show N Tell. Her current project is a much hyped album of rhythmic pop and dance tunes with an uplifting message produced by David Armaan and remixed by World Famous Remixer Jerome Farley, whose remixes of "Yes We Can" impacted dance club and radio play in conjunction with the recent American Presidential Inauguration.
Barbara Sheree is a member of Patti Labelle's Boom Boom choir. In 2007 they performed on NBC's Clash of the Choirs, on which Barbara performed a solo to Mary J Blige’s "No More Drama" for the show's finale, viewed by over 8 million countrywide. They continue to appear with Patti Labelle most recently in December 2008 on TVOne for a holiday show.
Barbara Sheree has been singing and writing for the past 15 years. She got her start singing in her school choir at the tender age of eight. By the time she was 13, she was singing on several school and local community choirs as a soloist. It was then that Sheree tried her hand at writing poetry. Her love for writing was no small hobby; collaborating with established writers such as Donald Robinson and Damon Bennett.
Her music is distributed by CD Baby and can be found on over 60 of the most popular digital download sites including ITunes. Barbara has performed all over the country in both indoor and outdoor venues. They include Club Fiso, Black Lily, Soul Sanctuary, Arcadia University, Philadelphia International Airport, North By Northwest, Tropicana Casino, Planet Rose, Boardwalk Hall, Sugar Bar and House of Blues. She has participated in both Winter Music Conference in Miami, Pantene Total You Tour in Philadelphia and Ebony Magazine Black Family Reunion Tour, both in Philadelphia and Atlanta.
She has both opened for and performed on the same stage as Patti Labelle, Barbara Tucker, Donnie Mcclurkin, Deborah Cox, Keith Sweat, Yolanda Adams, Lisa Lisa, Doug E. Fresh, Musiq and Kem.
