XARA- pronouced (car-ah) is a Pittsburgh based acoustic-rock band led by singer/songwriter Steve Vesolich. The bands unique style fuses together folk, blues, rock, world, and alt. country.

Beggar’s Cup: The album features powerful vocals and harmonies, great guitar and cello work, driving rhythms from djembe drums, and thoughtful lyrics.

The songs:The first song on the album, Black Coffee Days, presents a raw, dark quality that matches the taste of bleary-eyed mornings. The title track, however, is a soulful tune with country Gospel influences. Other songs, such as I Never Feel More Lonely Than I Do When You're Around and She Seemed So Right, offer a definite whimsical feel. Lead singer Stephen Vesolich's wide range and ardent tone, paired with profound lyrics, make the romantic ballads both compelling and believable. More fast-paced songs, such as Break, offer addictive rhythms with haunting background vocals.
