Eden vol. 2

Eden vol. 2

This Almanac, not in chronological order, begins in the early 80's with track 1, "Sexy Religion" and the final incarnation of Go Wild in French which was at that stage a four-piece band. Perth dudes Pickles and Paul made up the rhythm section with another Westerner, Peter Rowland on guitar and Ian Stephen on guitar and vocals. The recording was taken from an audio cassette but I like the energy here, which I hope transcends the crappy, low-fi sound. Recorded at an inner city Melbourne venue possibly in Prahran, it segues into another Ian Stephen composition "I Won't Be Afraid." In the middle of the first song you can hear me yelling at my girlfriend of the time, Jody, to wake up. I can see why that didn't last.
Cut 2, "Jesus Saves White Trash" was recorded in 1985 and was the musical stepping stone that launched The Slaughtermen into the world at large. (Australia anyway) Personnel on that day - Ian Stephen vx, Keith Glass vx, James and Margot McDonald vx , Mark Ferrie bass, Rob Eastcott piano, Pierre Jacquin
