Some 30 years ago, in the greater Freetown area of Sierra Leone, a visionary was born. Emmerson Amidu Bockarie, named after his father whom he lost at the tender age of 2, couples inspirational lyrics with feet tapping music. Indeed his music is a mechanism for change. He was raised by his mother and he would tell you he had a relatively normal childhood and formative years. He attended primary and secondary schools in Freetown, then continued his education at Njala University. Tragedy found him again when his mother died in his early adulthood.

His lyrics are filled with socio-economic and socio-political commentary with amazing dance tunes that leave his audiences awestruck and wanting more. He would be the first to tell you that he is not a politician. He simply tells it like it is and takes you on his personal journey.
